YOUTH TOBACCO VORTAL / SMOKE-FX PROJECT WEBSITE
The online meeting place and hub of information for all affiliates of the YTVP/SmokeFX.

The Youth Tobacco Vortal Project was designed to reach youth with tobacco control messages and news of local tobacco-related activities, via the Internet. The project is funded by the Ministry of Health Promotion - Smoke Free Ontario Campaign.
Our vision is to support and link provincial and local efforts in using fully the capability of interactive web-sites, as one inter-related component among other educational, community development and policy initiatives.
The project's "vortal" website is www.smoke-fx.com which provides local agencies a gateway of information and resources targeting young people.

What is a "vortal" you ask?
Vertical Industry Portal is a portal Web site that provides information and resources for a particular industry. Vortals are the Internet's way of catering to consumers' focused-environment preferences.
Vortals typically provide news, research and statistics, discussions, newsletters, online tools, and many other services that educate users about a specific industry.
As the Web becomes a standard tool for business, vortals will join and maybe replace general portal sites like AOL and Yahoo! as common gateways to the Internet.
