SWAT is a group of Youth Peer Leaders working for Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health.
We are part of a network of Youth Action Alliances across Ontario working to expose the tobacco industry and its destructive marketing practices. The tobacco industry operates outside the norms of legitimate business by producing the only product that when used as directed will kill. In fact, tobacco use kills more people than alcohol, AIDS, car crashes, illegal drugs, murders, and suicides COMBINED.
What's worse is that the tobacco industry is desperate to get youth hooked to replace the smokers that are dying from tobacco-related diseases and quitting.
Our projects are youth-led and are created to expose the truth to other youth in our community and create positive social change!
